Welcome to the forest - in the middle of the city!

The forest has inspired our country's greatest artists, and the forest inspires us all today: the smell of the forest, the atmosphere of the forest. The play of shadows and light. The fruits of the forest. An experience of the forest, served to all our senses.

Järvenpää Art Museum and Jean and Aino Sibelius' home in Ainola are celebrating the jubilee of composer Jean Sibelius in 2025 with a joint exhibition Silence and the Forest at the Järvenpää Art Museum from 23 April 2025 to 4 January 2026 and in Ainola from 2 May to 30 September 2025.

We invite you to combine your visit to the Silence and the Forest exhibition with a forest inspired dinner. To make your experience complete, Restaurant Huvila, situated in a historical log villa in central Järvenpää took up the challenge and designed a seasonally changing three-course menu, with flavours from the Finnish forest. Culture and cuisine - you are welcome to enjoy the experience in a day full of culture or part by part. We welcome also groups.
